Masai Mara Safari

One of Africa’s most famous game reserves, the Masai Mara tempts travellers from all over the world with its big skies, open savannahs and huge variety of stunning wildlife.

2 Night Safari Itinerary

Day 1, Thursday: Mombasa to the Masai Mara

From Mombasa you will fly west past Africa’s highest mountain, Mt Kilimanjaro, and on over the Rift Valley to Kenya’s renowned game reserve, the Masai Mara. On arrival, you will be transferred to your camp. Lunch at the camp. Experience your first game viewing drive in the afternoon across the vast plains of the Masai Mara. Dinner and overnight at David Livingstone’s safari resort

Day 2, Friday: Masai Mara

Wake for an early morning game viewing drive, returning to your camp for breakfast, followed by a mid morning game viewing drive for more chances of spotting the famous ‘Big Five’. Lunch at the camp Afternoon game viewing drive in one of the world’s greatest wildlife sanctuaries. Dinner and overnight at David Livingstone’s safari resort.

Day 3, Saturday: Masai Mara to Mombasa

This morning you will be taken on both an early morning and midmorning game drive, returning to your camp for lunch. Afternoon transfer to the airstrip for your flight to Mombasa. Transfer to your beach hotel for the remainder of your holiday.

Optional Morning Balloon Safari

On your first full day in the Mara you will have an early tea/coffee and pastry at your lodge before a transfer to the launch site 06.30 Briefing from pilot as balloon is inflated, followed by an approx. 1 hr flight from the treetops to a higher altitude (depending on weather conditions). Cooked bush breakfast on landing, followed by Champagne or sparkling wine toast. It's Ballooning tradition don't you know! Transfer back to your lodge, with game viewing en route. Back to the lodge around 11am.

Accommodation

We use a range of lodges across Africa. Each lodge offers standard rooms with private bathroom facilities. Some lodges offer permanent tented accommodation, which also have private bathroom facilities. Each lodge has a restaurant, bar and in some cases a swimming pool.

Please note: Due to the flight day being a Friday, guests travelling from Manchester wishing to book this safari must book as part of a 14 night holiday. We reserve the right to vary the order of visits, or provide alternative accommodation of an equivalent standard, if considered appropriate. Guests will need to checkout of their beach hotel and will not be guaranteed the same room on their return, as rooms have not been reserved and paid for during the safari.
